Young Womenhood Recognition Reception

So this past Sunday I put together a reception to help recognize three young women for getting their Young Womanhood Recognition award. This is Allan working hard to mat (by hand) the certificates that the girls would get.

This is how it turned out! It was beautiful. Way to go Allan he always executes my ideas wonderfully. He is so talented. I wish the picture did it more justice.

This is Lauren one of the girls about to hug her Dad. I thought it was a sweet picture.

This is Michele going down the line.

This is Stacey going down the line getting her congratulations.

Getting her necklace on.

Lauren and Stacey they are best friends!

I got some beautiful bouquets.

Overall for being my first time in charge of such a big event I think it went great. I learned a lot and will hopefully improve each year. And I know the girls enjoyed receiving their award in a special way verses having a flimsy piece of paper pushed at them in Sacrament meeting during announcements. I"M JUST SAYIN'!

WAY TO GO ! The pictures look great and it looks like a chip off the old block. Thanks to ALlan for such a great job on the certificates. They are usually so plain. Thanks for magnifying your calling and creating a great memory and motivating factor!

Personal Progress is a HEFTY calling and you pulled off the event beautifully. YW work so hard for that award, so I am sure they felt really awesome to have been awarded with those beautiful frames and a wonderful night of celebration! You are just a gem Corinne! YIPPY

During our Christmas visit to CA, we went to Baker's beach to take some photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Welcome...

Yes, yes, we realize we're jumping on a bandwagon....but come on, it's just so much fun! How else can you turn yourself or your family into instant celebrities?! Or make everyone else think you have a perfect life...

Anyway, welcome to our newest addition! It doesn't cry or need attention. And no diaper changing. Whatever we tell it to do, it does (until the computer crashes). And we can sleep in on Saturday.

Well, life is good. We live in Connnecticut. You know, the place about which Glenn Close's character in the Stepford Wives said, "Where in America could a whole town of robots go unnoticed? Connecticut!"

Allan is working as a Landscape Designer and Corinne is working as a Singer/Dancer/Actress! We have the greatest church ward this side of the Mississippi - lots of big active families and our chapel is only 2 miles away. Allan serves as the 11 year old primary teacher and Blazer leader, and Corinne is the YW Personal Progress Leader. There are hundreds of young people in our ward, so it's busy!

Browse our recently added pictures, slideshows, and posts. We'll do our best to keep it updated.

There is a big balloon parade put on by UBS, and they set everything up just outside our balcony -- cool!
