Yummy Sandwich, West Side Story, BBQ, Pretty tree and Picnics

So I get the Rachel Ray magazine (thanks Mckell) and it always has the best recipes! This one got me excited because strawberries are coming into season and it has so many good flavors all together. It also has avocado mayo-which I thought was a fabulous idea...so check it out it was so yummy and a great spring/summer dinner. The recipe is below for all of you to use.

Here is Allan with the finished product! We were really excited.
So good!
So Allan and I got to go to West Side Story on Broadway, thanks to my gracious employer. They were orchestra seats and we had the best time. The dancing, singing and acting was amazing.
Here we are in front of the Marquee.

After the show the weather was sooo warm we went and walked all around the city. We went to Columbus circle, Central park, 5th Avenue and Hell's Kitchen to eat. We ended up with the shin splints to prove it too! This picture is me in front of the Plaza.
Allan in front of the Apple cube on 5th.
Allan in the cool plaza around the Apple store the trees in the background are a part Central Park.
We have already had our first BBQ. Yesterday they actually just put in new grills so these old ones are out.
Tulips in our courtyard.
This is the tree Allan got for me. It is doing very well and is so pretty.

The pansies underneath are doing great as well!
So last night I put together a picnic and we took it to the beach. It was 88 degrees yesterday so it was great picnic weather. Allan had so much fun. It was my little thanks to him for all he does.  We sat on a stone wall right next to the water. The plates you see are plastic and I got them at Target if you like them.
I love this picnic basket! It has the middle to hold all the food and then there are two tables that pop out the side so you can eat comfortably!
Kristian Regal the best sparkling juice on the market...from IKEA.
We had a great time and had a Orange zest marinated grilled chicken, with a spinach and arugula salad. I even made the dressing from scratch as well. Yummy! We also had chocolate truffles for dessert.

Looks like West Side Story was awesome and you guys had a great time! We will have to plan on seeing it when we come this summer. The picnic looks fun too, we will have to get back into the picnic mode, though our basket is not a cool as yours.

During our Christmas visit to CA, we went to Baker's beach to take some photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Welcome...

Yes, yes, we realize we're jumping on a bandwagon....but come on, it's just so much fun! How else can you turn yourself or your family into instant celebrities?! Or make everyone else think you have a perfect life...

Anyway, welcome to our newest addition! It doesn't cry or need attention. And no diaper changing. Whatever we tell it to do, it does (until the computer crashes). And we can sleep in on Saturday.

Well, life is good. We live in Connnecticut. You know, the place about which Glenn Close's character in the Stepford Wives said, "Where in America could a whole town of robots go unnoticed? Connecticut!"

Allan is working as a Landscape Designer and Corinne is working as a Singer/Dancer/Actress! We have the greatest church ward this side of the Mississippi - lots of big active families and our chapel is only 2 miles away. Allan serves as the 11 year old primary teacher and Blazer leader, and Corinne is the YW Personal Progress Leader. There are hundreds of young people in our ward, so it's busy!

Browse our recently added pictures, slideshows, and posts. We'll do our best to keep it updated.

There is a big balloon parade put on by UBS, and they set everything up just outside our balcony -- cool!
