Opening Night

So the show opened last night and it went great! The audience was a pretty good crowd for a Thursday night. They had tons of energy and really enjoyed the show. We both did our parts just fine and even got some laughs. In one part of the show Allan's character creates a contraption and it is supposed to go on his face instead it was stuck on his shirt and I had to rip it free but it still ended up diagonal on his face and looked crazy--which was perfect because he has a line that says, "...it still has some minor flaws." The whole audience just cracked up because he looked ridiculous. So funny. That is what I love about live theatre you never know what is going to happen. You can rehearse for weeks without getting your contraption stuck but when it is live WATCH OUT!

After the show there was a party in the lobby. It was great to meet people and they all enjoyed the show. They had sparkling cider, champagne and cupcakes. I went for the cider and cupcakes I needed some sugar in my system. We had fun at the party but were exhausted because we ran the show twice yesterday. We had one last dress rehearsal before the show.

So I am excited for another performance and we have family coming tonight and I know they are going to have a blast! Well I have to go put curlers in my hair and work out my triceps at the same time!!
