Allan's Birthday Week

We celebrated Allan's birthday in a big way. We went to Jersey Boys on Broadway and then went out a couple of days later to a super chic restaurant The Mercer Kitchen. It is in Soho and a normal celebrity hang out of sorts. We had a great time and just marveled at the fabulous energy of New York City.

I made (from scratch) a double layered Red Velvet Chocolate cake with homemade frosting. It took me hours!! I took it to his work to celebrate.

I think I did a fabulous job. It was so yummy and the whole office just loved it. I am really starting to enjoy baking.

Allan wanted rollerblades for his birthday. I was skeptical not sure if he was any good...turns out he is fantastic. It is so fun to watch him have fun. I am personally like a fish out of water when I roller skate.

Allan is excited to go and do some laps but he has got some competition hanging around. Just look at the guy below he is taking skating very seriously. Spandex and all! You know how I love Spandex. Allan better watch himself out there.

The Competition

We are just enjoying the view of Long Island Sound. Except for the fact that it was just slightly cold. Can't wait till it gets warmer.

We also went to Jersey Boys here we are in front of the Marquee!
I loved it too! Can't wait to work on Broadway.

Dessert at Mercer Kitchen

Allan had a yummy lemon pie

I had a wonderful chocolatey, peanut buttery, creamy dessert.

The Zoolander face for the chic Mercer Kitchen

I am trying to look super sassy. But it turned out a bit scary. I was trying to be like the people there that take themselves soooo seriously. J/K

Allan loved the food and the fun. Happy Birthday Allan!!

At the beach in San Francisco

At the beach in San Francisco
During our Christmas visit to CA, we went to Baker's beach to take some photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Welcome...

Yes, yes, we realize we're jumping on a bandwagon....but come on, it's just so much fun! How else can you turn yourself or your family into instant celebrities?! Or make everyone else think you have a perfect life...

Anyway, welcome to our newest addition! It doesn't cry or need attention. And no diaper changing. Whatever we tell it to do, it does (until the computer crashes). And we can sleep in on Saturday.

Well, life is good. We live in Connnecticut. You know, the place about which Glenn Close's character in the Stepford Wives said, "Where in America could a whole town of robots go unnoticed? Connecticut!"

Allan is working as a Landscape Designer and Corinne is working as a Singer/Dancer/Actress! We have the greatest church ward this side of the Mississippi - lots of big active families and our chapel is only 2 miles away. Allan serves as the 11 year old primary teacher and Blazer leader, and Corinne is the YW Personal Progress Leader. There are hundreds of young people in our ward, so it's busy!

Browse our recently added pictures, slideshows, and posts. We'll do our best to keep it updated.

There is a big balloon parade put on by UBS, and they set everything up just outside our balcony -- cool!
