Phaedra's blessing day

On March 13, we blessed our little Phaedie.  She was dressed in a wonderful gown, handmade painstakingly by Corinne's mother Peggy.  My parents came from California for the occasion, and we had a very memorable weekend with all.  Here are some photos of her in her beautiful dress (thanks Jenn!) --  Much love to both our parents for joining us.

Little tid bits of fun (and some sleep too!)

Sleeping together!  Probably middle of the night...
She is determined to beat me in a staring contest.
Thanks Aunt Meredith and Uncle Curtis for the Miracle Blanket.  Miraculous.
Found these two like this last night on the couch.  Is this not the most precious thing you've ever seen?
So, our downstairs neighbor is a single work-a-holic from New Jersey who commutes to the city and clearly makes a lot of money.  We have NEVER passed by her door without tripping on a box from J Crew, Pottery barn, Ann Taylor, Macys, etc...  And today Corinne went out to teach her class and there were so many deliveries waiting at her door that Corinne couldn't even squeeze by!  We've been tempted to take something, but after all, she is our neighbor.  Just kidding.

So our little one thinks that she is 3 months old (just look how many fingers she holds up when I ask her how old she is).  She lifts her head up ALL the time (makes for difficult burping sessions) and she eats a lot.  She is very active now during the day looking at mobiles and wiggling and cooing.

She's a month old now! Wow how fast that has gone by. And yet, I think I've aged 6 months in a few weeks!
Snuggled up with Corinne after her first bath. She seems to like the water so far.
Here we are going for the first plunge. She was very focused on my face, sort of checking to make sure it was ok.
A yummy 59 degree day was perfect for our first walk at the park behind our apartment. It was awesome.

Getting bigger.

One of Corinne's young friends from church (Katie Murphy) made her this awesome cake. It has her name written on it and a little crib. Very yummy.
There are many things that my expression could be saying. You can choose what you think that would be!
She likes keeping her hands in little fists. Ready for a boxing match.
Awwwww.... now that's a face! So sweet little Phaedie.
"They think I don't know what is going on!"

Here we are...still surviving. Every day is a new journey. Amazing how the hours between 10 pm and 6 am seem to be like a whole day!

She weighed in on Friday at a few ounces over her birth weight (she had dropped a little, now gaining it all back). Weight and head circumference in the 95th percentile. Height in the 50th!!! Little butterball.

Welcome Phaedra!

Here I am, the proud (and exhausted) dad, with an equally sleepy baby Phaedra.
Corinne did fantastically. Here she is with Phaedra recovering at Stamford Hospital.
The going home outfit was an awesome Patagonia bunting from Corinne's good friend Raederle. Our little eskimo!
Chilling at home! Her favorite position -- arms free from the swaddle (she escapes most of our best attempts) and up at her cheeks. We've given up with the hats because she moves her head so much that they fall off within seconds of putting them on. So far we see Corinne's eyes, Allan's chin, and Broadbent hands (long fingers!). She changes so much every day, so still evolving...

We love our little girl. She is beautiful and spunky. She is already holding her head up and constantly kicking legs and stretching arms.

A huge thank-you to our extended family for all the help, both in person, and on the phone or over video chat. We love you all. She is two weeks old today!

At the beach in San Francisco

During our Christmas visit to CA, we went to Baker's beach to take some photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Welcome...

Yes, yes, we realize we're jumping on a bandwagon....but come on, it's just so much fun! How else can you turn yourself or your family into instant celebrities?! Or make everyone else think you have a perfect life...

Anyway, welcome to our newest addition! It doesn't cry or need attention. And no diaper changing. Whatever we tell it to do, it does (until the computer crashes). And we can sleep in on Saturday.

Well, life is good. We live in Connnecticut. You know, the place about which Glenn Close's character in the Stepford Wives said, "Where in America could a whole town of robots go unnoticed? Connecticut!"

Allan is working as a Landscape Designer and Corinne is working as a Singer/Dancer/Actress! We have the greatest church ward this side of the Mississippi - lots of big active families and our chapel is only 2 miles away. Allan serves as the 11 year old primary teacher and Blazer leader, and Corinne is the YW Personal Progress Leader. There are hundreds of young people in our ward, so it's busy!

Browse our recently added pictures, slideshows, and posts. We'll do our best to keep it updated.

The parade!

The parade!
There is a big balloon parade put on by UBS, and they set everything up just outside our balcony -- cool!
